Citadines Paras Square Gurgaon Review: A 4-Star Workation Stay with a Kitchen and Balcony
The view from our balcony on a high floor was the first thing that told me this stay would be different from the usual Gurgaon hotel room: open fields, a stretch of what used to be a village, and new high-rises coming up in patches, all visible at once from up there. We had booked Citadines Paras Square in Sector 59, near Golf Course Extension Road, for a short workation, and that view told me the room was not going to feel boxed in.
I stayed two nights. This review covers what I actually found: the room, the kitchen, an oddly placed 14th-floor reception, a pool that was not open yet, and the breakfast buffet.

Why I booked a workation stay here
I wanted two things from this stay: a room I could actually work from, and the option to cook rather than order in for every meal. Citadines Paras Square is positioned as a 4-star property, and Sector 59 is close enough to the city that I was not cut off, but far enough that it did not feel like I was staying in the middle of traffic. A hotel can get one of those two things right and still fall short on the other, so I went in treating the kitchen claim as something to actually verify, not just take from the listing.
The complex has a couple of cafes on its own ground floor, so you are not entirely dependent on the in-room kitchen or room service. The main road it connects to has more cafes and pubs further along, in the Sector 58-59 stretch. I did not revisit those on this trip since I have covered some of that café scene on the channel before, but if you are staying here for a few days and want to step out in the evening, that stretch is worth knowing about rather than assuming there is nothing nearby.

The room and the balcony
The room was noticeably more spacious than I expected walking in. I have stayed at 5-star properties with smaller rooms than this. There is a proper work station, a sofa, a comfortable bed, and a private balcony attached to the room, not a shared one down the corridor.
The washroom was fine, nothing fancy. The one thing I would have liked was a bathtub, but that is a minor complaint against everything else the room got right. I did not feel boxed in anywhere in the room, and there was enough space to move around without bumping into furniture. The room also felt clean in a way that held up on close inspection, not just on first glance when you walk in.

Through the day and evening, you can hear birds outside, and occasionally cattle, which was unexpected this close to the high-rises. From our floor we also caught the sunset directly from the balcony, which is the photo at the top of this review.
A kitchen you can actually cook in
This is what makes Citadines Paras Square useful for a longer stay rather than a one-night visit. The room has an induction cooktop, a sink, a microwave, basic utensils, and an iron with an ironing board. There is also a system in place for cleaning up after you cook, so it is not a case of using the utensils once and being stuck. If you want to cook your own meals instead of ordering in every day, you can. You just need to bring your own ingredients and whatever spices or staples you actually cook with.

For anyone doing a workation or an extended business stay, this is the detail that separates a regular hotel room from a place you can actually live in for a week or two. A complimentary cold coffee was offered as part of the stay, and room service was available alongside the option to order from Zomato or Swiggy, so the kitchen is a choice, not a requirement.
Reception on the 14th floor, and a pool that was not ready
This is the first hotel I have stayed at where the reception desk is not on the ground floor. Check-in works like this: your luggage is scanned at the ground floor, a guard assists with parking in the basement, and you are then sent up to the 14th floor, where the actual reception, the restaurant and the breakfast buffet are all located together. It threw me off for a second the first time, since there is no front desk to walk up to at street level, but it made sense once I was actually up there. Reception, restaurant and buffet sharing one floor meant I was not shuttling between different levels for different things.
Check-in itself was smooth. We arrived and checked in at 2 PM, on time, with no delay at the desk. The staff were professional and polite through the stay, not just at check-in.
The swimming pool is on the 15th floor, one level above reception. It was not operational during our two nights there. I was told it was still a few weeks to a couple of months from opening, though I would not treat that as a firm date since it came from a passing conversation at the property, not an official confirmation. If a working pool is something you are specifically booking for, confirm its status directly with the property before you reserve a room, since this is the kind of detail that changes between when I visited and when you might book.
The breakfast buffet
I had not tried the food on the first evening, so the breakfast buffet on our second morning was my first real taste of what the property served. The spread had a live counter along with the regular buffet items, and there was a clear gap between the vegetarian and non-vegetarian sides. Vegetarian options had real variety, more than I expected walking in. Non-vegetarian was thinner, with a couple of chicken dishes and an omelette station, nothing close to the vegetarian range. If non-vegetarian breakfast matters to you specifically, this is worth knowing before you go rather than discovering it at the counter.

Items from the live counter could be ordered straight from the table instead of queueing up, and they were brought over once ready. My own plate ended up fairly simple: pancakes, a waffle, a pastry and a small bowl of flavoured yoghurt. None of it was outstanding, but nothing on the table felt like a letdown either.

Would I recommend Citadines Paras Square for a workation?
Yes, with the pool caveat noted above. Across the two days, the room, the food and the service all held up, and I would call Citadines Paras Square a fully satisfying stay. For a property positioned as 4-star, it gave me a better experience than some 5-star places I have stayed at, mainly because of the room size, the balcony and the working kitchen. Citadines is a serviced-residence brand run by The Ascott Limited, which is why the in-room kitchen is standard across its properties rather than a one-off feature at this address.
It is not in the thick of the city, and it is not far from it either, which is exactly the balance I wanted for a few days of working from the room. If you are planning a workation and do not want to eat out for every single meal, the kitchen setup makes this a genuinely practical choice, not just a marketing line on the listing.
Treat the pool status, the exact room category, and any current tariff as things to confirm directly with the property when you book, since none of those are things I can verify from a two-night stay, and they can change between my visit and yours.

I have covered other stays the same way, room first, food second, verdict last. My Moon Rock Cafe & Stay review from Chopta covers a very different kind of property, with a valley view and a rain-exposed roof. My Madhyamaheshwar stay near the temple is a budget room for comparison at the other end of the spectrum.
