Nainital and Bhimtal can both be part of a trip through this region, but they offer a different rhythm. Nainital has Mall Road, more cafés and more movement. Naukuchiatal gave us fresh air, a quieter lake setting and fewer people around the property. If your priority is nightlife or easy shopping, the trade is obvious. If your priority is sitting outside with a view while a child settles into a trip, it makes sense.
