Hotel The Spiti Kaza Video: Cottage Tour, View and Price
This video records the Hotel The Spiti cottage we stayed in during an April visit to Kaza. Three of us used the cottage for one night, paying ₹2,500 during a seasonal Himachal Tourism discount. The walkthrough shows the property, cottage area, bedroom, dining space, bathroom, restaurant, parking and the mountain view visible during our stay.
What the video covers
We had already checked several small stays in Kaza, and some were asking roughly ₹4,000 to ₹5,000 per night. The prices felt high for the rooms and facilities being offered. We reached Hotel The Spiti without a confirmed reservation, checked availability and found a cottage.
The video begins outside so you can see the scale of the Himachal Tourism property and the mountains behind it. It then moves through the cottage area, showing the separate structures, the open space around them and the sit-out area in front.
Inside our cottage
The cottage had a separate dining space, bedroom, cupboards, television, bathroom and a room heater. Staff placed an extra bed for the third member of our group. The setup was simple, but it did not feel cramped.
Heating was included in our room. I mention this because some stays in cold areas quote a room price and then ask for an additional heater charge. I prefer knowing the complete cost before checking in, particularly in Spiti where nights can be very cold.
The view and parking
The wide mountain view was the most memorable part of the property. Snow remained on the higher slopes during our April visit, and the hotel grounds had an open outlook. The footage shows the view as it appeared that morning, without presenting it as a guarantee for every room.
There was also a proper parking area. For a self-drive trip, this removed the usual concern about fitting the vehicle into a narrow roadside space or blocking another guest.
Dinner at the hotel
We ate a simple dinner of paneer, dal and rotis. The restaurant itself was basic, and the meal felt closer to home cooking than resort dining. It was warm, filling and suitable after a long day on the road.
The staff behaved well with us. I did not film breakfast because we were preparing to leave and were considering skipping it, so the video does not make claims about a breakfast buffet or menu.
The price needs context
Our ₹2,500 rate came during an April discount period. The regular cottage tariff shown during the visit was ₹4,400 plus taxes with meals. Rates and inclusions can change, and peak-season pricing may be different. Confirm the current room type, meal plan, taxes, heating and cancellation terms directly with Himachal Tourism.
For our night, the discounted cottage represented good value because three people could stay comfortably and the heater, parking and usable space were included. At a higher tariff, compare it with current Kaza options before booking.
