Elan Epic Mall Gurgaon and Daksina Bhawan: My Visit and Food Review
At Elan Epic Mall in Gurgaon, I stopped at the blue water feature for photos before we ate at Daksina Bhawan. The garlic dosa was worth ordering again. The starters were less convincing.

My first walk through Elan Epic Mall
I had seen a South Indian restaurant in a recent reel, but first I wanted to walk through Elan Epic Mall. The parking area felt spacious when we arrived. Outside, the clouds looked good; inside, I kept returning to the water feature with my camera. Its blue surface reflects the lights and the floors of shops around it. Live music was playing during our visit. We stayed long enough to get a sense of this central area, though this was not a full mall tour.

No parking charge was collected from us on this visit. I noticed that because paid parking has become common on my mall visits. It may change, so I would check before travelling solely for free parking. Elan lists the mall in Sector 70 on Southern Peripheral Road. The photographs show the parts I saw, especially the central pool and upper levels. I did not inspect every shop.
Lunch at Daksina Bhawan
We chose Daksina Bhawan for South Indian food. The wooden entrance stood out from the brighter mall around it. Inside, orange seating and carved wood gave the room a warm look, and we settled in for a proper meal. The menu showed several dishes in the ₹200–₹300 range. I also saw an unlimited breakfast offer marked ₹299, but we did not try it. Those were menu prices at the time of our visit, not the cost of our whole meal.

I ordered a garlic dosa. It was served with sambar and chutneys, and I had none of the reservations I had about some of the starters. We also tried cheese uttapam. That was another good choice for our table. If I returned to Daksina Bhawan with only one dish in mind, I would choose the dosa.

The starters were uneven
The dahi vada arrived very cold. There was still ice in it, and the vada did not seem fresh to me. The ice made the temperature the first thing I noticed. The idli-vada left a more ordinary impression; I would call it average. The cheese paniyaram was the clearest miss. The pieces were small, and some had little or no cheese inside. I had chosen it for the cheese, so the uneven filling mattered.

I have eaten at several other South Indian places in Gurugram. Carnatic Cafe has served me a good dosa, although it can be crowded. I liked the dosa at The Malabar Coast too. Sambar Ritual still stands highest for me on freshness across the dishes I have tried there, although I have also encountered weekend waiting. These impressions come from different visits. At Daksina Bhawan, the dosa and cheese uttapam were the safer choices from our order.
Would I return?
I would return to see more of Elan Epic Mall. We had to leave earlier than planned because of our child, so another visit would let me explore the shops and restaurants we missed. Daksina Bhawan could be part of that trip for a dosa. I would skip the starters we found disappointing and check the current menu first. If you are comparing Gurgaon shopping and dining stops, my Grand View High Street visit covers a different setting.
Where is Elan Epic Mall?
Elan Epic is on Southern Peripheral Road in Sector 70, Gurugram. This map points to the mall listing I checked on Google Maps.
Elan’s project page has the official location information. I would confirm the current hours, menu and parking terms before the next visit.
