Delhi NCR pollution is the reason I ordered this small purifier, but I didn’t expect
a travel-mug-sized machine to clean a car the way a room purifier cleans a bedroom.
That would be a silly expectation. My **Reffair AX50 review** is therefore based
on what I could actually check during the unboxing: the filter setup, cup-holder
fit, controls, fan noise, supplied cable and first run inside my car.

I couldn’t verify a drop in PM2.5 because I didn’t use a separate air-quality meter
during this test. I also hadn’t run the unit long enough to judge filter life. What
I can show is how the purifier is assembled, what it sounds like in each mode and
why removing the plastic around the filter matters before the first use.

## Watch my Reffair AX50 review and first-use vlog

The video is the primary record of this test. It shows the box, the purifier, the
wrapped filter, the USB-C connection, touch controls, lights and the space available
around my centre console. I also compare the body with travel mugs so you can judge
the size without relying on a product-page render.

https://foodandtraveltales.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/10/reffair-ax50-unboxing-
in-car.png)

I opened the AX50 box inside the car before setting it up.

## Why I bought a car air purifier

You feel Delhi NCR air even before an app tells you the AQI. Dust settles inside
the cabin, the throat starts noticing the air, and traffic means you spend more
time sitting in that closed space. I already use air purification at home, so I
wanted to try a smaller unit in the car rather than relying only on fragrance.

A freshener and a filter don’t do the same job. Fragrance can mask a smell. A powered
purifier pulls air through a filter, at least in principle, and the effectiveness
then depends on airflow, filter quality, cabin size, ventilation and how long the
unit runs. I bought the Reffair AX50 because compact car-specific options were limited
when I looked, and this model was available.

I kept my expectations modest. The filter is small, the car doors open regularly,
and outside air enters whenever the windows or ventilation bring it in. This first
look isn’t proof that the AX50 can make a polluted cabin safe. It is a practical
check of whether the unit is easy enough to set up and live with.

## What came in the box

The package felt light. Inside I found the purifier body, its filter, a USB-C power
cable and the manuals shown in the video. I had also ordered sandalwood essential
oil separately because the purifier has an aroma function. That oil was not part
of the purifier package I opened.

The unit is compact and roughly travel-mug shaped. That shape makes sense in a car
because it can use a cup-holder-sized space instead of occupying a broad section
of the dashboard. The body felt light in my hands. I wouldn’t mistake it for a heavy
home appliance, and the small scale is one reason I won’t make large-room comparisons.

size-comparison-1.png)

The AX50 is close to travel-mug size and fits the cup-holder area shown in my car.

## Do this before switching it on

Open the purifier and remove the plastic wrapping from the filter. Mine arrived
covered. It is an easy step to miss because the product can still power on while
the filter remains sealed, but a wrapped filter can’t do the work it was fitted
for.

I removed the filter, took off the plastic, placed it back in the correct position
and closed the body before connecting power. This was the most useful part of the
unboxing. People often assume an appliance is ready straight from the box, especially
when the cable connects and the lights come on.

![Naveen holding the Reffair AX50 filter after removing it from the purifier body](

The filter arrives wrapped, so the plastic has to come off before use.

## Fit and cable routing in my car

The purifier fitted in the cup-holder area I tested. My centre console was already
busy, so placement mattered more than it might in a car with two empty holders.
I had separately ordered another holder and considered moving the small dustbin
already using that space. The photos show the actual compromise: the AX50 is compact,
but it still takes one useful storage position.

Power comes through the USB-C connection shown in my setup. The supplied cable reached
the point I used during the video. Your result will depend on the location of the
USB socket or adapter in your own car, so check cable routing before deciding where
the purifier will stay. A loose cable near the gear lever isn’t something I want
while driving.

setup.png)

The supplied USB-C cable powers the unit during my setup.

## The controls made sense after a minute

The top uses touch controls rather than a button with a clear mechanical click.
A tap changes the operating mode, while holding the control turns the unit off.
I found the sequence quickly, though the lack of a physical button means you need
to look at the colour or listen for the speed change at first.

Green was the slow, quiet mode during my test. Red ran the fan fastest. The unit
also had colour lighting that I could cycle or switch off, plus a separate protection
control shown in the video. I could confirm that the control changed state, but
I couldn’t independently measure what the UV or plasma function achieved in the
cabin.

The light is optional decoration for me. Some people will like it at night; others
will switch it off and forget it exists. I care more about being able to use the
fan without adding an irritating sound beside me.

## How loud was it?

On the low setting, the Reffair AX50 was easy to lose under normal cabin noise.
At the faster setting, I could hear it, but it didn’t sound louder than the car
AC running around level two or three during this stationary check. The microphone
in the video gives a useful reference, though microphones and phone speakers never
reproduce cabin noise perfectly.

That was a positive first impression. A purifier that annoys me will get switched
off, and a switched-off filter is useless. I still need longer drives on rough roads
to judge whether the body rattles in the holder or the fan tone becomes tiring over
time.

## What Reffair currently claims, and what I tested

The current [Reffair product page](https://reffair.in/products/reffair-ax50) describes
a pre-filter, H13 HEPA layer, activated carbon, plasma ionizer, UVC light, a tapered
cup-holder body, ambient lighting and an aroma function. The Amazon page reached
through the affiliate link was showing a 2026-labelled AX50 when I checked it on
20 October 2026.

My video was published on 7 December 2025. Packaging, included parts and specifications
can change between revisions, so compare the listing details with the box you receive.
During my own first-use test, I confirmed the removable wrapped filter, cup-holder-
style form, USB-C power, fan-speed changes, touch operation and lighting. I did
not verify the filter grade in a laboratory, measure CADR, test germ reduction or
record before-and-after particulate readings.

 | Point | What I could confirm | What remains untested |
  | Size and placement | Travel-mug-sized body fitted the holder area in my car | Fit in every car or cup holder |
 | Power | USB-C cable powered the unit | Long-term cable and port durability |
 | Noise | Low mode was quiet; fast mode remained manageable while stationary | Noise and vibration across long drives |
 | Controls | Touch input changed speeds, lighting and power state | Long-term touch-panel reliability |
 | Air cleaning | Fan pulled air through an unwrapped filter | Measured PM2.5 reduction, CADR and cabin clean-up time |
 | Filter life | Filter is removable | Actual replacement interval in Delhi NCR use |

## What I would test after a month

A proper Reffair AX50 review needs more than an unboxing. I would start with a separate
PM2.5 meter, record the cabin reading before switching the purifier on, close the
doors and windows, keep the AC setting consistent and repeat the same timed test
on each fan speed. One reading would still be weak evidence, so I would repeat it
on several days with different outside pollution levels.

I would also photograph the filter when new and again after a fixed number of driving
hours. Visible dust would show that air has passed through it, though appearance
alone would not prove how much fine particulate matter the filter captured. The
Reffair AX50 replacement interval should be based on the maker’s current instructions
and actual use, not a date copied from an older listing.

Longer driving would answer the practical questions this first session could not.
Does the cable stay out of the way? Does the body rattle over rough roads? Does
the highest speed become irritating after an hour? Does the aroma remain mild, or
does it become stronger than expected in a closed cabin? These are small details,
but they decide whether the Reffair AX50 stays switched on every day.

## Who may want to skip it

I would skip this model if I needed a built-in AQI display, automatic proof of cabin
readings or a device that leaves every cup holder free. My unit gave me no independent
number showing the change in air quality. If you have a large cabin, regularly drive
with the windows open or expect instant removal of heavy smoke and odour, this compact
format may also fall short of that expectation.

People buying for asthma, allergies or another health concern should not treat my
Reffair AX50 first look as medical assurance. A small accessory can be part of a
cleaner-cabin routine, but checking the ventilation system, replacing the car’s
cabin filter on time and limiting outside-air intake during severe pollution also
deserve attention.

## My honest first verdict

The Reffair AX50 made a decent first impression as a compact car accessory. It fitted
the intended area, setup was simple once the filter plastic came off, and the noise
didn’t bother me during the recording. The lighting and aroma option are extras.
The small fan and filter are the real reason to buy it.

My reservation is just as clear. I didn’t have an independent PM2.5 meter in the
car, so I can’t tell you how quickly it reduced particles or whether the change
was large enough to justify the price. Feeling reassured isn’t the same as recording
cleaner air. I planned to add a longer-use comment after spending more time with
it, and that evidence is still needed for a firm performance verdict.

If you want a compact powered filter and understand those limits, the AX50 is easy
to install and unobtrusive on low speed. If you expect room-purifier performance,
an instant AQI transformation or proof from this first-use video, I can’t give you
that. Check the current model, replacement-filter availability and return terms
before buying.

## Questions I would ask before ordering

### Does the Reffair AX50 fit every cup holder?

It fitted the holder area in my car, and the current product description uses a
tapered cup-holder design. Cup-holder diameters and console layouts vary, so compare
the listing dimensions with your own car rather than treating my fit as universal.

### Can it replace a home air purifier?

No such comparison was established in my test. The AX50 has a much smaller body
and filter than the home purifier I had in mind. It is meant for a car cabin, and
even there I would want meter readings before making a performance claim.

### Is the essential oil included?

I ordered sandalwood essential oil separately for the aroma function. Don’t assume
the oil shown in my video is included with every AX50 package. Read the current
list of box contents.

### Where can I see another product review on this site?

My [Qubo Smart Cam 360 review](https://foodandtraveltales.com/qubo-smart-cam-360-3mp-review/)
follows the same first-look approach: I separate the features shown during setup
from the points that need longer testing. You can also see my [DJI Osmo Action 6 first look](https://foodandtraveltales.com/dji-osmo-action-6-adventure-combo-review/)
for another creator-focused unboxing.

I bought the AX50 because the air inside the car had become hard to ignore, not
because I expected one small gadget to solve Delhi NCR pollution. The best part
of this first session was finding that I could run it quietly without making the
console awkward. The unanswered part is performance, and that needs numbers, used
filters and time rather than another line of praise.
