Foodandtraveltales is a personal food, travel, recipe and product-review website. This policy explains what information may be collected when you visit the site, leave a comment, contact us by email or Instagram, click an affiliate link or watch embedded content.

Information you provide

When you email us, you may provide your name, email address and message. If you contact us on Instagram, we can see the account and message details you choose to share there. If you leave a comment, the site may collect the information entered in the comment form, your IP address and browser information to help identify spam.

Please do not send passwords, payment information, identity documents, health information or other sensitive personal information by email, on Instagram or in comments.

Information collected automatically

After a comment is approved, any public profile image supplied by Gravatar may appear beside the comment. Comments may remain on the site unless removal is requested and there is no legal or security reason to retain them.

Email and Instagram messages

Messages sent to contact@foodandtraveltales.com or our Instagram account are used to read and respond to your enquiry, prevent spam, maintain necessary correspondence and protect the site. They are not sold as a mailing list. Email correspondence is retained only for as long as reasonably needed for these purposes or to meet legal obligations. Instagram messages are also subject to Instagram’s own privacy practices and account settings.

Affiliate links

Some articles may contain affiliate links. If you click one, the retailer or affiliate network may use a cookie or another identifier to record the referral and determine whether a commission is due. The price you pay is not increased by this tracking. Purchases take place on the third party’s website, and Foodandtraveltales does not receive or store your card details.
